Our Story

Two Decades of Building Los Angeles

Rex General Contractor was founded in 2004 by Ramon Escobar, a second-generation craftsman who learned the trade from his father in the San Fernando Valley. What started as a two-person framing crew has grown into a full-service general contracting company serving homeowners from the Westside to the San Gabriel Valley. We have completed over 28 projects across Los Angeles County, ranging from single-room bathroom renovations to multi-story home additions that required full engineering submittals and LADBS coordination.

Founder and Lead Contractor

Over 22 years in the trade, specializing in structural additions, ADU builds, and complex kitchen renovations. Ramon holds his Class B General Contractor license and personally oversees every project from bid to closeout.

Maria Castellano

Project Manager

Maria manages scheduling, material procurement, and subcontractor coordination for all active Rex GC projects. Her background in LADBS permitting keeps our jobs on track and avoids the costly delays that derail most residential builds in Los Angeles.

Derek Lam

Lead Finish Carpenter

Derek has spent 14 years perfecting interior finish carpentry, from custom cabinet installation and crown molding to built-in shelving and door and window casing. His work is what clients photograph and share when they show off their finished projects.

Craft Over Speed

We set realistic timelines and then we stick to them. We will never rush a tile installation or a concrete pour to make a schedule that was unrealistic to begin with. When the work is done correctly the first time, callbacks disappear and referrals follow naturally.

Total Transparency

Every estimate is itemized. Every schedule is written. Every change to scope is documented before any additional work begins. We have found that homeowners who understand exactly what is happening and why make better partners and end up with better results.

Code-First Building

Every project Rex GC builds is fully permitted and inspected by the City of Los Angeles. Unpermitted work creates title issues, insurance complications, and safety risks that cost far more to resolve than they saved in the first place. We do it right from the start.
